In 2005, the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio received $10,000 in Tourism Cares Worldwide Grant funding. The institute is one of Ohio's premiere arts venues and houses one of the nation's most notable collections of American Art. It is the first structure built exclusively to house and display a collection of American art. At present the collection includes 18,000 works spanning four centuries. Through its 75-year history the institute has remained free to the public, The grant assisted the Butler Institute of American Art in repairing its aging roofs that were damaged due to a late winter snowstorm.
