The Morris-Jumel Mansion, built in 1765, is “Manhattan’s oldest house and remains unique in both architectural and historical significance.” The grant is to fund the restoration of three facades of the house’s exterior. The Historic House Trust of New York City was founded in 1989 to help New York City’s Department of Parks and Recreation preserve its collection of 22 historic homes in city parks. They partner with NYC & Company to offer Harlem Home Tours, as part of their heritage tourism initiative.
