The Old Carolina Road runs from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Monticello, Virginia. The corridor, 175 miles in length, holds unmatched historic and cultural sites, including 2 World Heritage Sites, 73 National Historic Districts and 13 National Historic Landmarks. On June 2, 2005 the “Journey” was named one of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The grant will support Authenticity Guidelines and Training programs, enhanced visitor services and enhance the overall quality control standards.
