Tourism Cares honors J.W. Marriott Jr.
at the 2008 Tourism Hall of Fame Gala
On Tuesday September 16, 2008 the travel industry came together to honor JW "Bill" Marriott, Jr. as he was inducted into the Tourism Hall of Fame. The official induction ceremony took place at a gala dinner at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA.
The Tourism Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who, among other business accomplishments, have made significant personal contributions to travel and tourism through philanthropic, volunteer and mentoring activities. Mr. Marriott exemplifies all of those attributes and more.
Mr. Marriott joins 19 others inducted into the Tourism Hall of Fame including Arthur Tauck of Tauck World Discovery, Dan Sullivan of Collette Vacations and Bill LaMacchia of The Mark Travel Corporation. For a complete list of past Tourism Hall of Fame honorees
