“There Used to Be.” How many times do we say that to our children, grandchildren and friends? “There used to be a beautiful park with gardens, walking trails, statues and playgrounds and now it’s a mall and a parking lot.” Fill in the blanks. There are thousands of “there used to be.” examples that have succumbed to urban sprawl or in the name of progress. We have to stop saying “there used to be” by doing something about it. This is reason Tourism Cares exists. We help people act now to save the natural, cultural and historic sites that are so important to our worldwide culture and heritage. Through our partnerships with companies, large and small, who depend on travelers having something to see, do and experience, and the travel and tourism workforce that depends on those companies to make a living.
