International Destinations Invited to Partner to Protect Heritage SitesTourism Cares is soliciting proposals from emerging international tourism destinations for its next Global Outreach Host Country Partnership Program designed to protect and conserve world heritage sites and nearby communities. Please review the Request for Expressions of Interest. The Global Outreach Program invites applications from tourism organizations in developing countries to participate in a joint Host Country Partnership Program which unites North American companies with an emerging tourism destination for a three year effort. Dr. Don Hawkins, Chairman of the Global Outreach Committee, said “The purpose of this program is to promote sustainable tourism development and management practices designed to protect and conserve cultural and natural sites through a collaborate effort linking US and host country businesses.” The Host Country Partnership Program will provide a positive economic impact on the country’s sustainable tourism infrastructure, create or enhance the host country’s tourism industry support for its national heritage; and facilitate a professional exchange of knowledge among industry representatives from the Host Country and the United States. Responses should address the opportunity for improving the host country’s dedication to its heritage, and should identify an organizing committee composed of travel, tourism and hospitality companies within the destination country, including the support of the national tourism office.
