2012 Tourism Cares Worldwide Grant Program Key Information

The following list includes helpful hints vital to successful completion of the on-line application.

• There are two application deadlines in 2012: Thursday, March 1, 2012 and Monday, July 2, 2012 at 5:00 pm Eastern time.
• The timing of grant funds should be five to six months after the Step One: Initial Letter of Inquiry application deadline.
• The application is only available on-line. Paper applications sent in by mail or fax, or e-mailed as attachments, will not be considered. Also, any items submitted under separate cover will not be considered.
• Your organization, site, and project need to fit the Tourism Cares Eligibility Criteria. Unless prompted by an explanatory message after responding to all the questions in the first section of the applicant dashboard, called "Pre-Qualification Questions," your organization, site, and project fit our basic Eligibility Criteria.
• The preferred browser to access the on-line application is Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
• The web browser back button does not function in the on-line application as it does normally, so we recommend you use the internal "Save and Return to Dashboard" button.
• The Letter of Inquiry questions have been incorporated into the on-line application and is not a separate document.
• For the Step 1 - Initial Letter of Inquiry Phase, your organization is required to submit a PDF proving bona fide non-profit, tax-exempt. public charity status and a project budget and budget explanatory narrative (maximum 3 megabytes per PDF) in the Required Attachments section of the on-line application. 
• When naming required attachment PDFs, please do not include special characters (i.e. &, #, or $) in the file name.
• You are only able to submit your application when all sections of the applicant dashboard show 100% complete. The two reasons a section typically does not show 100% complete are a) all required fields do not have responses b) a required attachment is not uploaded due to invalid file names or format.
