Meaningful Land Acknowledgement Guide
At Tourism Cares, we believe in fostering a more responsible and inclusive travel industry—one that honors the deep histories and enduring legacies of Indigenous and tribal communities. A land acknowledgment is a meaningful step in recognizing and respecting Indigenous Peoples as the original stewards of the lands we now inhabit, work on, and travel through.
As part of our commitment to sustainable and ethical tourism, we have created a comprehensive guide to help you craft a meaningful land acknowledgment. Fill out the form below to download this free resource!
SPOTLIGHT: THE PEOPLE + PLACES OF TOURISM CARES
Georgia Street Community Collective (GSCC) | Tourism Cares with Detroit 2017
A partner site during our Meaningful Travel Summit event in 2017, GSCC turned an empty lot in Detroit to what is is now the home of the Georgia Street Community Gardens. The Collective serves to revitalize the neighborhood, using the garden and education programs to mentor area youth and attract new business to the area.
