Land Acknowledgement

Tourism Cares Meaningful Travel Roadshow, Greater Miami (2025)

We begin by acknowledging that we gather on the traditional and unceded lands of Indigenous Peoples, including those whose Nations remain active today, and those whose tribal presence has been displaced or disrupted by colonization. In particular, we honor the Miccosukee and Seminole Peoples, who continue to steward this land, its waters, and ecosystems as they have since time immemorial.

The impacts of colonization are not confined to the past. They persist in the systemic injustices Indigenous Peoples face across this country, including here in Florida.

As travelers committed to meaningful, responsible experiences, we recognize that acknowledgment alone is not enough. Tourism Cares pledges to support Indigenous-led initiatives, uplift Native voices, and foster education about Indigenous rights and histories. During our time here, we commit to walking respectfully, listening deeply, and contributing to the healing and restoration of land and people, for this generation and the next.

We encourage you to learn from and support local Indigenous programs and experiences, including:

Let this acknowledgement be an invitation—to reflect, to learn, and to stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples
