Tourism Cares is taking its final stop of its Meaningful Travel Roadshow online for an inspiring, interactive digital program that will bring the stories and impact of Galveston, Texas, directly to you. This new virtual format expands access to the conversation, enabling travel professionals across the industry to connect, learn, and collaborate—no matter where they are.
The Meaningful Travel Virtual Roadshow: Galveston Edition will take place virtually on Friday, November 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST, and will dive into pressing sustainability topics like community engagement, cultural heritage, and coastal conservation. Using Galveston as a living case study, participants will learn actionable strategies to integrate meaningful travel into their business and destination.
This virtual program is free and open to all travel professionals.

Keynote presentation featuring Samuel Collins III, Juneteenth historian; past co‑chair, Juneteenth Legacy Project; and Galveston community leader.
Featuring two panel presentations:
Coastal Communities & Climate Resilience - This discussion will spotlight local leaders who are advancing solutions for Galveston’s coastlines and how the tourism industry can amplify efforts in Galveston and beyond through partnerships, funding, and visitor storytelling.
Heritage Storytelling: Culture, History, and Visitor Value - Using Galveston as an example, this panel will explore why local history matters and what makes a story distinct to a destination while ensuring narratives remain authentic, inclusive, and community-owned.
