Join us at the third and final stop of the 2025 Meaningful Travel Roadshow: Galveston, Texas! This event will explore how the travel and tourism industry can balance honoring cultural legacies with championing environmental stewardship.
Galveston serves as a powerful case study. As the birthplace of Juneteenth, the city offers profound insights into African-American history and the destination’s ongoing journey toward resilience, conservation, and community-led stewardship.
Through educational programs, off-site visits, and peer-to-peer learning, you’ll see how heritage and habitat can craft meaningful travel experiences.

Morning (9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Welcome & Education Sessions
Kick off the day with a welcome coffee, followed by engaging education sessions and workshops designed to inspire and inform. Wrap up the morning with a networking lunch, offering a chance to connect with peers and local changemakers.
Afternoon (1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
Experiences / Tours / Activities
Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in local culture through curated experiences and activities that showcase the area's unique cultural heritage, sustainable practices, and local leaders.
Early Evening (4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Networking Reception
Attendees will enjoy a networking reception featuring locally-sourced food and drink, celebrating the destination’s flavors and providing an opportunity to connect with local changemakers and industry leaders.

Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre | Tourism Cares Grantee
Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was provided support on behalf of Globus Family of Brands to support ongoing mentorship, build capacity and foster resiliency for Indigenous community members through meaningful employment. The grant funds will also be used to develop a new guided tour called ANCIENT MEDICINES, enriching and connecting the cultural identity of the Indigenous Youth Ambassadors and Cultural Ambassadors the Centre works with.
