Why Peru?

Across the country, communities, entrepreneurs, conservation organizations, and tourism leaders are creating experiences that celebrate cultural heritage, protect biodiversity, and generate economic opportunity. Peru provides a powerful example of how tourism can support local priorities while offering travelers richer and more authentic experiences.

How Are Communities and Experiences Selected?

The organizations and experiences featured throughout the Summit were identified in partnership with PROMPERÚ, Turismo Cuida, and COLTUR. Each reflects a commitment to community benefit, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, or inclusive economic opportunity. Rather than showcasing tourism created for visitors, the Summit highlights initiatives that are rooted in local priorities and demonstrate how tourism can support community goals.

The Peru Summit demonstrates what that can look like in practice.
