MEET SISAN: The SISAN Artisans Association is a collective of women entrepreneurs creating handmade products inspired by the iconography of the Pachacamac Archaeological Sanctuary. Learn traditional techniques directly from local artisans and create your own piece inspired by Pachacamac's cultural heritage.

Today we leave Lima, fly to Cusco, and make our way into the Sacred Valley for an afternoon of connection with the travel trade and a welcome evening hosted by PROMPERÚ.

Today, attendees head into the Sacred Valley for one of two hands-on community experiences before coming back together for learning, conversation, and connection.

GROUP 1 | LLAMA PACK PROJECT

8:30 AM–12:30 PM | Approx. 30-minute transfer

Meet local llama farmers and learn about the traditional role of llamas in Andean communities and mountain conservation. Join a scenic trek alongside llamas and local herders, followed by a shared picnic.

ACTIVITY LEVEL | Most physically active option. 2 km / 1.2-mile easy-to-moderate trek at approximately 10,300–10,630 feet in elevation.

GROUP 2 | PACHAR PUEBLO MURAL PROJECT

9:30 AM–12:30 PM | Approx. 20-minute transfer

Explore Pachar's community murals and work alongside Pachar's women artists to help create and paint a new mural.

ACTIVITY LEVEL | No art experience required. Includes a 30-minute walking tour. Specific mobility accessibility information is not provided.

Today is centered on community-led experiences, local traditions, agriculture, reciprocity, and ancestral knowledge before we continue on to Cusco.

BREAK INTO COMMUNITY GROUPS | Attendees have been assigned to one of two similar experiences with different communities. Assignments cannot be changed onsite out of respect for community partner planning.

• AMARU GROUP: 8:30 AM–2:00 PM | Tierra de los Yachaqs, Amaru | Community visit + lunch | Approx. 1.5-hour transfer

• MISMINAY GROUP: 9:30 AM–2:00 PM | Misminay | Community visit + lunch | Approx. 1.25-hour transfer

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCES | Connect with the living culture of the Andes through a traditional gratitude ceremony to Pachamama and hands-on preparation of pachamanca. Learn about Andean agriculture, reciprocity, local traditions, and ancestral textile practices directly from community members.

LUNCH | Lunch is a traditional pachamanca featuring tamale, guinea pig, potatoes, sweet potato, plantain, meat, and chicken. Substitutions are available based on dietary requirements.
